Boneless chicken handi

Make your Eid special with this mouth watering recipe of boneless chicken handi.
Chicken handi is basically a traditional mughul emperor dish which is cooked in a special cooking pot made of clay called Handi. The main ingredient in this dish is creamy sauce which gives an unexpected unique flavour. This dish is very popular both in India and Pakistan.  You can enjoy the mouthwatering dish at lunch time or at dinner with your family and friends. Follow these simple steps to get delicious restaurant style chicken handi at home.



                           

Ingredients

Chicken boneless (1kg) cut into small cubes
Cooking oil (1 n half cup)
Onions chopped (2 medium size)
Tomatoes chopped (5-6)
Garlic /ginger paste (2 teaspoons)
Fresh yogurt (1/4 cup)
Heavy cream (1/4 cup)
Cumin seeds (1 teaspoon)crushed in mortar
Red chilli flakes (1 teaspoon)
Fenugreek seeds (1 teaspoon)
Ground black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
Garam masala powder (1 teaspoon)
Coconut powder (2 teaspoon)
Plain flour (1 table spoon)
Salt (1 teaspoon)
Green chillies (3 cut length wise)
Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing (finally chopped)

Recipe:
1. Take Handi pot and heat oil in it and fry chicken cubes until tender and retain their shape. Take out in a plate.
2. Put chopped onions in that same oil and fry until golden.
3. Now add ginger/ garlic paste and stir for 2 minutes.
4. Add tomatoes, cumin seeds and a little water and cook on low heat until oil separates.
5. Now add fried chicken,salt and all dry  spices one by one on a medium heat and keep stir for 2 minutes.
6. Add yogurt and stir for 1 minute and then add cream and stir for 1 minute more.
7. Now sprinkle flour and mix well and stir for 2-3 minutes on a low flame.
8. Dish out into a serving dish and garnish with green chillies and coriander leaves.
9. Serve with a Naan/roti.
